Here’s how to make an effective, inexpensive heating pad. Take a clean sock (a man’s tube sock with no holes works best). Fill halfway with about five cups of regular white rice. Tie a knot at the top. Warm in microwave on high at 30-second intervals until desired heat is reached. This heating device will stay in good shape as long as it does not get wet. This heating pad conforms well and is perfect for headaches, earaches, backaches, neck aches, cramps- anything that would call for a heating pad.
