“I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Heinz Vinegar. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and as a thank you for participating.”

Recently I discovered that vinegar can be used for more than cleaning your house. I was given the opportunity to try two types of  Apple Cider Vinegar from Heinz, filtered and unfiltered.

First I know you are probably asking yourself the question what is the difference between filtered and unfiltered? Well, folks here is the difference. First is where you can buy it at. The unfiltered apple cider vinegar can only be found at Walmart and other select retailers. Whereas the filter can be found anywhere. The next difference is the sizes they are available in. The regular Apple Cider Vinegar is available in 16 ounces and 32-ounce bottles. The unfiltered only comes in one size 32 ounces.

Another difference is that the unfiltered version is vinegar in it’s purest form. There are no additives or preservatives in this one.

I was given the tasks to try both of these vinegars out, and I will have to say that I prefer the regular vinegar to use in cooking. I was asked to make a recipe using both of the varieties of vinegar.

I love salads, and my favorite salads are the ones that contain strawberries, but ranch dressing does not taste right on a salad with strawberries. So I decided to use both to make a homemade vinaigrette dressing. This is the recipe I followed. I found this recipe on the Heinz Vinegar Recipe website

Berry Vinaigrette

Ingredients:

2/3 cup Heinz® Apple Cider Vinegar
( remember I made two different dressing using 2/3 cups of each)
1/4 cup sugar
1 cup extra virgin olive oil
2 cups cut strawberries

Directions:

Whisk all ingredients together in a medium bowl.
Cover and store in the refrigerator.
Serve at room temperature.
Can be made a day in advance.

I will have to say that I preferred the dressing that I made with the regular one. It was not quite so tart as the unfiltered one, but my husband loved the unfiltered version better.

Vinegar has many other uses as well. Just look at the graphic I made for this awesome product.

Here are some interesting facts about Heinz and their Apple Cider Vinegars. First, Heinz has been committed to making all natural kinds since it was founded in 1869. They offer a wide variety including the Apple Cider and the Unfiltered Apple Cider that I tried.  Both types are perfect for salads, marinades, and recipes.

For more information about how to use this check out the website and their Pinterest page.

Here is a printable recipe for the dressing.
