Frugal Tip

Clean your refrigerator’s condenser coils.
Refrigerators don’t ask for much, but they need a little attention from time to time. The next time you’re cleaning the kitchen, check the refrigerator’s condenser coils. If they look furry (think dust bunnies), then it’s time to get the vacuum and give them a cleaning. When condenser coils become caked in dust, the refrigerator has to work harder to keep its contents cold. The end results are higher utility bills and a shortened lifespan for one of your home’s most important appliances.
