Eco-Friendly Tips That Save You Money
Y’all, this year has been challenging. The pandemic has put a strain on my family’s finances, just as it has for many others in the country. However, a friend of mine just shared some eco-friendly tips that can save you money. Now I want to share them with you so that you don’t feel strapped going into the new year.
Conserve Water
There are a few water conservation tips for homeowners that everyone should know. For example, try to limit your showers, y’all. I know there’s nothing more relaxing than a long shower. Still, it’s incredibly wasteful. Also, consider getting your water tested because hard water may be using more energy. The more often you get it tested, the more money you’ll save in the long run.
Ditch the Car
I spend so much money on gas, y’all. Before the pandemic, I was driving my kids everywhere. It wasn’t until my girlfriend shared these eco-friendly tips that save you money with me that I realized how much money I could save by not driving as much. Also, I’m helping the environment, so it truly is a win-win situation.
Buy in Bulk
Y’all, my kids are savages. They eat so much sometimes—I cannot comprehend it. The truth is, I’ve always been scared to buy in bulk because I thought it’d be more money. However, as it turns out, this strategy often gives you more bang for your buck. In addition, there’s less waste involved, so again, you can help the environment.
Use Green Equipment
Guys, I did not know how much green equipment was out there. Much to my surprise, there are plenty of devices that can save you money. Here’s a list of a few things you can buy that are worth the investment:
- Energy-saving power strips consume less electricity
- LED lightbulbs conserve more energy than their fluorescent counterparts
- A water-saving showerhead will lower your water bills and conserve H2O at the same time.
