On November 28, 1967, Anna Nicole Smith was born. However, her birth name was Vickie Lynn Hogan. She was born in Houston, Texas and grew up in Mexia, Texas. Her mother and father were Virgie Mae Arthur and Donald Eugene Hogan respectively. Anna had five step brothers and sisters. Their names are Donnie Hogan, Donald Hart, Amy Hogan, Donna Hogan, and David Tacker Jr.

One crazy fact about her is how unsuccessful she was at school. Nicole went to Durkee Elementary school and for high school; she went to Aldine Senior High school in Houston, Texas. However, she didn’t finish at Aldine Senior High School. She went to live with Kay Beall her mother’s younger sister in Mexia. While in Mexia she joined Mexia High School, which she didn’t complete due to failing to the first year and dropped out of school during her 10th grade when she was 14.

She found a job at Jim’s Krispy Fried Chicken in Mexia. While working at the restaurant she fell in love with Billy Wayne Smith and got married in 1985.

The Career Life of Anna Nicole

Anna gained fame after appearing on the cover of Playboy magazine issue of March in 1992. This was her first step to her long modeling career. In the same year, she appeared in the Playboy Playmate issue of the month of May 1992. After a short while, she earned a contract with Guess Jeans in an advertisement campaign replacing Claudia Schiffer who was a supermodel.

During the campaign, she changed her name to Anna Nicole Smith. Due to her excellent performance in photography, Anna started modeling for H&M a Swedish clothing company in December 1993, this was days before Christmas festivities. This move led to her being photographed for large billboards in Norway and Sweden.

Her appearance in magazines didn’t end with Playboy. She also appeared in a German magazine, Marie Claire. In August of 1994, Anna’s photograph was used in White Trash Nation an issue of the New York magazine. However, the photograph was used without her own consent. So, her lawyer Mr. T. Patrick Freydl sued the magazine and demanded $5 million. After a while, the legal battle was said to have been resolved.

Apart from shining in the modeling industry, Anna began her acting career at the age of 26. Her acting career led to her being recognized universally. She made her first debut to the film industry with Screwball comedy and Hudsucker Proxy both in 1994.  In Naked Gun 33 1/3 she was given the role of Tanya Peters. After a week since making her first film appearance, she appeared in the Final Insult which gave her more limelight in the film industry.

In addition, she gained more positive reviews. Even with her reputation in the first year of her film career, she was not given the required roles in films. Hence, she demanded recognition of her blazing acting career. In 1995, Smith decided to make an appearance into the Limit which was her first starring role as Colette Dubois. However, this didn’t work well for Smith.

This led to her film career deterioration. By 1996, she was not able to land a decent film appearance. Nonetheless, she made an appearance in Skyscraper in 1996. Even with this move, she was not able to bring her acting career back to life. With such occurrences, she decided to concentrate on TV series. In 1998, she appeared in Sin City Spectacular. In addition, she also appeared in her self-promoting film The Anna Nicole Smith: Exposed. A year later she made an appearance on the sitcom Veronica’s Closet.

In the same year, she played the role of Myra Jacobs in Ally McBeal series. By 2000, her acting roles had decreased considerably. Nevertheless, this didn’t affect her publicity; she was given a reality show on the E! cable network. Though she had a reality show it didn’t last for long. It was canceled after two seasons due to differences between the network company and Anna.

Nicole then decided to return to the film industry, this was in 2003. She appeared in Wasabi Tuna a comedy film. This also didn’t get the desired reviews from fans. In 2005, she has seen in Be Cool a basketball film as a spectator. At the end of 2005, she made her self-produced parody film known as the Illegal Aliens which, was released after her death.

Even while acting she was a renowned spokeswoman. She was a spokeswoman for TrimSpa, which helped her lose thirty-one kilograms. November 2004, she made an appearance at the American Music Awards introducing rapper Kanye West. She also advertised for animal rights groups such as PETA. In a scene that cannot be forgotten during the first MTV Australia Video Awards, she fooled Janet Jackson’s wardrobe failure by pulling her dress down to reveal her breasts covered by MTV logos.

Anna Nicole Smith’s Personal Life

There are so many crazy facts in Anna Nicole Smith personal life as well. In 1991, while she was performing at Gigi’s in Houston she met J. Howard Marshall a petroleum tycoon. During their love affair, the tycoon splashed expensive items for Anna. Many times Howard asked the model/actress to marry him. In 1993, Anna divorced with her husband and was married by Marshall in June of 1994. After a year of marriage, the tycoon died.

After the death of the petroleum tycoon, Anna went to court to fight for inheritance that she was orally promised by Marshall. J. Howard promised Nicole half of his estate which comprised of 16% of Koch industries. After a long legal battle, Nicole was awarded $449,754,134 by a Los Angeles bankruptcy judge. The inheritance case didn’t end even though she was awarded the cash the judgment was disputed several times but didn’t end till her death.

Even after fighting for Mr. Howard’s inheritance Anna Nicole was addicted to prescription medication leading to borderline personality disorder as her psychiatrist Dr. Nathalie Maullin said. In February 2007, Anna was found dead at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. After investigations, it was found that she died of drug intoxication and the overdose of sedative chloral hydrate, Klonopin, Ativan, Serax, and Valium.

In addition, she had taken Topamax, Benadryl that led to her sudden death. However, after a conclusive investigation, it was found that eight out of the eleven drugs were prescribed to Howard K. Stern, not to Nicole.
