Allergies in general are more common now, including food allergies. Being allergic to chocolate is relatively common, although it might not be as common as the peanut allergy. The people who have nut allergies will still usually have issues going into chocolate shops or receiving gifts related to chocolate, however, because so many boxes of chocolates include confections that feature nuts.
