Budget Date Nights Can Be Fun

Date nights can be so expensive that it’s easier sometimes to just stay home instead of spending your hard-earned cash on fun times. The good news is that you don’t have to spend a few hundred dollars every time you want to enjoy a night out with your loved one. We’ve got a few ways you can dial it back while still having a great time.

Eat and Drink At Home

You can set up a great date night at home. Make a gourmet meal and enjoy some cocktails at home. All you need is some flavoured syrup for the best cocktails mixed with your favorite alcohol. Pick up some steaks or seafood for your meal. It’ll be a lot less than buying them at a local eatery. Turn on some sexy music. You can even dress up like you’re going out. Best of all, after dinner, you can sit back and relax instead of dealing with paying and waiting for the valet.

Go For a Hike

Hiking is usually totally free. It’s also a fun time to explore new areas together as you walk and talk. You can bring food to share together somewhere in the middle of your hike, too. You don’t even have to be the outdoorsy type to enjoy a hike. It’s all about finding new terrain and figuring out paths through it. Hiking trails are usually near beautiful pieces of scenery so breathe in the fresh air and stare at the artistic sites.

Coffee Shop Date

If you’re tracking your spending habits, buying a daily coffee isn’t helping your budget much. Those mocha lattes add up a few dollars at a time. This doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy your favorite coffee shop with your date. Go hang out at the coffee shop for date night. This means you could order a drink each. You could even order a little snack. After this, you’re good to go. The chill environment combined with the nice chit chat is perfect for date night. Many times coffee shops have live music and/or board games so you have added entertainment.

Dollar Movie Night

You don’t need to see the newest movies in the theater. Hit the dollar theater to check out some older movies that might be new to you. Check out which nights or which theaters do this. Many times you get so busy in life that you don’t see the newest movies until they’re out on DVD anyway, so checking them out at the dollar theater is even better. You might still want to sneak in your own candy and drinks as the dollar theaters don’t usually scale back on those prices.

Arcade Night

Going to an arcade brings you back to childhood. It’s one of the biggest trends right now, too. Most arcades don’t cost too much as each game takes a few quarters to play. Get competitive and go a little wild on your favorite old school games. You can sometimes grab a drink at arcades so go ahead and get crazy by getting a drink and playing video games all night. You’ll save money and feel like a kid again. You usually even win tickets which you get to turn in for some sort of toy. The prize at the end of the date is one of the best things about arcade night. Let your date win a few games so they’re feeling really great at the end of the night. You’ve won in the dating and arcade game category.

Hit the Bookstore

Reading together in a cozy nook is the perfect date night. Bookstores don’t cost a thing so it’s fun to pick out some books and look through them together. Many times they even have a coffee shop inside so you can grab a cup of joe and go find a book. Even if you decide to purchase a book, it’ll cost you a lot less than a big date night out. There are usually lounging areas so choose some books and sit down to read through them together. Discuss things that interest you in the books to have extra deep conversations.
