The dream of many is to explore those far away exotic places only visited either on TV or glancing through some wanderlust magazine knowing the fantasy will really never happen. Why? Mostly because it is too far beyond the reach of a regular family with other commitments lurking in the corner such as mortgage or other household clutching bills. Such a shame because truly this is doable for most people if they can just get their heads around creating a budget. It is a fantastic means of traveling far away and spending a reasonable amount of time to really get a grasp of the landscape, people and culture.
Let’s Visit Arches National Park for a Couple of Weeks
The biggest cost will be in getting there and this can be accomplished on a budget by booking flights well in advance and in the off-peak season. This will also secure a quieter and much more special adventure because the trails and treks will be so quiet it will seem that one is out there and so in touch with nature.
Arches National Park
This is where you will find the world’s largest formation of natural sandstone arches. It is a very spectacular place to visit and one which will never be forgotten. The park itself is open 24/7 all year round. It is such an economical place to visit, for instance, a 7 day pass costs a mere $25. Just imagine the amount of exploring, camping and enjoyment can be packed into this amazing week at a fraction of the cost a tourist would spend elsewhere.
What to Do at Arches
About 2,000 arches are located within the park’s 76,000 acres and the park is well known for a variety of other amazing geological formations. Gigantic balanced rocks, colossal sandstone fins, soaring spires, and pinnacles are just some of the awesome sights that greet visitors as they plan the myriad of hiking trails and treks to embark on. For the adventurous outdoor types, this is the ultimate playground. Hikers can choose from a wide variety of treks, some for the seasoned hiker. But you will want to bring a hiking stick along for help with balancing. Some of these trails are not very well known by the general public such as; the Primitive Loop in the Devil’s Garden district of the park.
