Ways to Get Over Hair Envy

ways to get over hair envy

As I write this post, the television is playing in the background and The Young & the Restless is on. Don’t judge you know you watch it too. But have you noticed that not one of the actresses on that show have short hair. Yea sure Phyllis’s hair is kind of short but I think she is a minority. Most have medium length or long hair. I envy those long luxurious locks that most of them have. None of them seem to suffer from flat or flyaway hair. I guess that is what you get when you have a hair stylist at your beck and call. Knowing that you would think that I would not envy their hair but I do.

I will admit that after years of experimenting I have finally hit on a hairstyle that I actually love. Luckily the upkeep is pretty easy. But that doesn’t mean that I still don’t feel a ping of jealously when I see someone with a beautiful and perfectly styled head of hair. But I have learned that sometimes things are not what they seem. Did you know that most of the times what we envy the most can be ours for a price. So with that said here are a few ways you can overcome hair envy.

  • Buy quality hair weave extensions. Did you know that most of the time that full head of hair that you envy is actually fake. Well not fake  but obviously not their own.
  • Use a good quality brand of shampoo and conditioner. Make sure that you don’t wash it every day because over washing can strip your hair of valuable nutrients, causing it to become dry and damaged.
  • Invest in quality hair equipment. Sure you may have to shell out a few bucks but in the long run it will help you. I try to let mine dry as naturally as possible before I apply any heat to it, because it  can’t take a lot of heat. Moroccan oil works well on keeping those frizzes at bay.
  • I also have learned not to stress over my hair and just have fun styling it. Yes I have an easy hairstyle but I can always spice it up with clip in hair extensions if I want. I am currently toying with the idea of getting purple extensions to help raise Epilepsy Awareness.

So tell me how do you handle hair envy?
