The Best Unlimited Phone Plans for Your Family

In today’s connected world, your cellular device is as important to your family as your wallet or purse. With the kids browsing, texting, and talking on the phone and you needing the phone to keep tabs on them all while getting important work done, charges can pile up if you don’t have an unlimited talk, text, and data plan. There are various options today, and generally, they provide different benefits and price points. In this piece, we will look at two of the best available between AT&T Unlimited Plans and T-Mobile Unlimited Plans and compare and contrast the benefits of the two. Read along to find out the best unlimited phone plans for your family.

AT&T Unlimited Plans

AT&T offers unlimited plans for just about everyone you can think of, and at various price points, so you can budget easily for your cellular bill. Plans have three tiers, Unlimited Starter, Unlimited Extra, and Unlimited Premium. Each is a bit different but includes access to 5G data.

The Unlimited Starter plan starts at $35 per month per line; when you get 4 lines, includes unlimited talk, text, and data. It allows for 3GB of data for mobile hotspots and will allow for standard definition streaming. This is an excellent package for users who just need the basics and often don’t use their device for a hotspot.

With the Unlimited Extra plan, you’ll see the same great features as the starter plan but some added perks. In addition to unlimited talk, text, and data, you’ll also receive 50GB of premium data each month, which means your internet will not slow down when the network is busy. Also, 15GB of hotspot data for connecting your other devices to the network comes. This plan comes in at $40 per month, per line, when you have four lines.

Finally, we have the Unlimited Premium plan from AT&T. This is the beefed-up version of the three and is ideal for the family that are heavy users of their cellular devices or like to stream and play games with their devices. It includes 50GB of a hotspot and unlimited premium data, and you can stream in 4K UHD. This plan comes in at $50 per month, per line, when you’ve got four lines connected.

T-Mobile Unlimited Plans

T-Mobile also has three different options for unlimited family plans: the Essentials plan, the Magenta plan, and the Magenta MAX plan. All plans have unlimited talk, text, and data speeds up to 5G. They include scam-blocking protections and exclusive perks through T-Mobile Tuesdays.

Let’s look at the Essentials plan first. This plan runs about $26 per line when you set up auto-pay and have four lines connected. This plan features 50GB of premium data, which means you’ll have good data speeds even when on busy networks, up to 50GB. This plan also includes unlimited 3G mobile hotspot data but does not include high-speed mobile hotspot data.

The Magenta plan steps it up quite a bit above the Essentials plan in terms of included perks for your cellular plan. Including the standard features of the unlimited plans, it also offers 100GB of premium data and 5GB of high-speed mobile hotspot. It includes a subscription to Netflix in standard definition and one screen for viewing pleasure! This plan runs about $35 per month, per line with four lines.

The Magenta MAX plan is T-Mobile’s Cadillac of unlimited plans. Along with all of the great features that are standard with these packages, the Magenta MAX offers unlimited premium data, 40GB of high-speed mobile hot-spot data, and a two-screen Netflix subscription in full HD. This plan is roughly $43 per month, per line, when you’ve got 4 lines connected.

So, Which Unlimited Plan is the Best?

You might be feeling a little overwhelmed, but we’ll try to help you decide which is right for you. Each plan has its perks and differs in some way, including costs.

If your family only requires essential functions and doesn’t plan to use the hotspot or stream much, the Starter or Essentials plan from either AT&T or T-Mobile is probably right for you. Between the two, there is something there to get you started.

If the family are moderate data users, enjoy streaming and gaming from time to time, and you plan to use the hotspot for working on the go, we’d recommend jumping into the Unlimited Extra or Magenta plan.

Finally, if everyone in the family is a heavy user and constantly on the go, the Unlimited Premium or Magenta MAX is probably what you’ll need.

Determine your budget, compare the features you’ll use, and consider the coverage areas for each of these plans, and you’ll be well on your way to finding the best plan for your family’s needs.
