Independence Day Interrupted
This year, I will not celebrate the Fourth of July, despite my love for America. I honor my Marine father, who served selflessly, by confronting the injustices faced by immigrant families like mine. In light of the current state of the nation, I choose truth, remembrance, and hope over traditional celebrations.
