Las Vegas as a Family Friendly Destination

Las Vegas

For most people, mentioning Las Vegas will lead to associations with casino gambling. However, the city has really come into its own and is not considered a top family friendly destination. With pleasant weather conditions and easy travel access, more and more families are heading west to visit. There are a variety of activities found around the city that will appeal to families.

Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat

Located at the Mirage Casino is Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat. This sanctuary lets visitors come up close and person with some of the animal world’s most exotic members. Interact with enchanting animals such as white tigers, white lions, leopards and bottlenose dolphins. Perform a variety of activities with dolphins including painting and yoga. The venue offers special packages including a behind the scenes VIP tour.

Stratosphere Tower

Another popular family site is the Stratosphere Tower located within the casino of the same name. The Skyjump is fun for older children and definitely not for the faint of heart. Brave participants can jump from the 108th floor of the towers with a one of a kind view of Vegas. For those not quite as adventurous, the tower is also equipped with an observation deck which affords guest a 360-degree view. The tower is the tallest free-standing observation tower in the U.S. at a height of 1149 feet.

Madame Tussaud’s

This celebrated wax museum is always a popular place for children and adults alike. Madame Tussaud’s is the home of hundreds of wax replicas of well-known celebrities, historical figures, and athletes. To make the museum even more engaging, expect to find interactive exhibits that allow your family to be photographed with certain celebrities. So lifelike are the figures, you may have people thinking you really visited a celebrity in person.
