Attend Kaleidoscope Biz Fest

It’s wedding week. And today is THE WEDDING DAY. I am so grateful that a few blogging friends have agreed to guest post so I can spend time with my daughter and get her ready for her big day. Today I have a post about the Kaleidoscope Biz Fest.

My name is Hadassah Patterson. I am a chef, freelance correspondent at WRAL Out and About, and event host at Triangle Gluten Free. My former blog was worldonatable, which I created during my culinary time in kitchens. Feel free to check out the recipes! We’re big on celebrating women’s happiness and accomplishments! One of the reasons I became a chef is because I love seeing others make lasting memories. Also inspiring is seeing people reaching those goals that shatter ceilings or last a lifetime! To that end, I am collaborating with some wonderful, extremely talented ladies and we’re putting together a fantastic event that is also reasonably priced so all can attend and enjoy with ease.
It is called Kaleidoscope Biz Fest and will be held right here in the Triangle of North Carolina, at Rhythms Live Music Hall, (2020 Chapel Hill Road, Ste 33, Durham, NC 27707). The date will be September 14th, 2019 from 12-7pm.

Our featured charity is Interact of Wake County – which assists survivors of domestic abuse. We are also planning a jobs training program non-profit for at-risk populations.

Speakers are: Keynote Katia Ravé is a French Triangle resident, business strategy coach, philanthropist, and international speaker. She is a published photojournalist and award-winning speaker. She energetically inspires driven entrepreneurs to set higher goals and attain them with a sustainable growth strategy that aligns with their core values. She was awarded the Women Economic Forum Award for Exceptional Women of Excellence Award in New Delhi, India.
We were truly delighted to meet and know all of these ladies but what a surprise I received when I heard from a NASA Rocket Scientist! Jaqueline Mims, PMP, CPO, LSS GB will be speaking on the ability to unleash your authentic power to dream the impossible dream and to write your own ending. She was the first African-American civil servant to be certified as a spacecraft ground controller for NASA- Goddard Space Flight Center’s unmanned spacecraft. Her code enabled NASA to retrieve some of the beautiful images we now have of the celestial bodies in outer space! She has won numerous awards since for her ground-breaking roles during her career. She now mentors young people and women in STEM for success with her non-profit, My Global STEM Academy in Wake County, and internationally.
Yogi and Life Expert Carrington Razook Jackson is a Triangle resident and guest instructor for studios and teacher-training programs throughout the country. Over the last 20+ years, Carrington’s journey through yoga has been a diverse global study and practice. She now mentors yoga teachers around the world and serves as the Yoga In Action Coordinator for Off The Mat, Into The World TM, regional leader for CTZNWELL, and Lululemon legacy ambassador.
Attorney Berkelhammer (lower left) is an esteemed law practitioner of the Legal Direction firm in the Triangle area and a member of the following organizations: Durham County Bar Association, North Carolina Bar Association, NC LEAP Steering Committee, Veterans Entering Transition Advisory Council, and Legal Mentor at Durham Technical Community College Small Business Center.Dr.Susan Lovelle specializes in finding personalized holistic solutions for busy women who are burning themselves out doing everything for everyone else and merely surviving on caffeine and willpower. Whether it’s to lose 20+ pounds, gain more energy and focus, or just plain sleep through the night, Dr. Lovelle and the Premiere Wellness team will help others discover their ONE, signature way of living so that you can experience the healthy, long, and joyful life you want and deserve.
If you are picking up on a theme – it’s that each person is unique! That means YOU too. So we’d love to see you come, relax, and enjoy a day of focusing on yourself and your specific goals!
Chairperson Lana Garland has worked as a Creative Director, Director, and Writer/Producer in television and film in the US and Europe. Her work has included creating content for HBO, BET, and ESPN in America, and TV2 in Denmark. She is the recipient of the Ella Fountain Pratt Emerging Artists Award from the Durham Arts Council and was honored this year by Gov. Roy Cooper for her contributions to the arts and cultural heritage landscape of North Carolina and beyond. She runs Insibah Films and curates the popular Hayti Heritage Film Festival in Durham.
How much is it? We could charge exorbitant prices to hear some of the golden nuggets these ladies have to share about success as a female-identifying professional in the times we live in! But that’s not our style. We like things affordable and accessible because the idea is to make things easier as we are all taking the next steps. So curate your own experience! Both general admission and the yoga inclusive ticket price includes all food.
The venue will host a cash bar with non-alcoholic options available.
