5 Hidden Gems in Los Angeles You Can Reach By Rental Car

If you visit LA, then it makes sense to rent a car. The highways can be a little hectic, especially during rush hour. However, if you do not rent a car, then it can be difficult getting around. The city is so spread out, and public transportation options are limited at best.

If you’re looking into car rental, Los Angeles airport agencies are there for you. They should have plenty of options depending on the kind of vehicle you favor.

Once you have your car, you might want to check out some spots that are considered to be hidden gems in the City of the Angels. Let’s talk about five of them right now.

Hermosa Beach

There are a ton of beaches you can visit in and around Los Angeles, but Hermosa Beach certainly has earned hidden gem status. Santa Monica and Venice might get bigger crowds, but Hermosa Beach is a lot more relaxed.

You can find many lovely places to eat around there, as well as tattoo shops and souvenir stands that are nowhere near as mobbed as the ones you’ll see close to the city’s more famous beaches.

Silver Lake

Silver Lake is considered to be one of the most ethnically diverse parts of Los Angeles. You will certainly see the Latin influence, but there are also Asian residents who have added their own restaurants and other establishments.

Silver Lake is perhaps best known for its comedy clubs. The infamous Comedy & Magic Club has an open mic night that attracts celebrities like Jay Leno.

Pasadena

Pasadena is another spot that you might want to frequent as a tourist if calm and tranquility appeal to you. The Melting Pot food tours are a favorite here if you are feeling adventurous. You can also check out the Rose Bowl stadium, a venue that has hosted many legendary football games over the years.

Los Feliz

Los Feliz is another neighborhood in LA that the tourists don’t know about very much. However, it is near Atwater Village, Silver Lake, and Hollywood as well.

It’s quiet there, and there are some lovely parks and walking and bike riding trails that you can explore. The palm trees lining the streets and eclectic mix of local personalities make this the ideal spot for people watching. There are also some incredible burger and taco places that will likely be clamoring for your attention.

Echo Park

Echo Park is perhaps best known as being the neighborhood encompassing Chavez Ravine, where the Dodgers play baseball at Dodger Stadium. This one-of-a-kind facility is one that you absolutely must visit if you are a serious baseball fan.

You can get yourself a Dodger dog and watch the defending world champions play. You might catch a foul ball off the bat of superstars like Shohei Otani or Freddy Freeman.

You will also find many local dive bars and music venues where you can enjoy some live tunes. Indie artists are always playing, but sometimes better-known ones show up as well.
