AFM Summer Reading List

A few weeks ago I posted in my quote of the day, a beautiful quote from this wonderful book. If you only have a chance to read one book for the rest of the year, then this is the book you will want to read. Here is a brief summary of the book.

The-Possefinal-640x1024

Being a widow at the age of forty-four was never in Jude Hawthorne’s plans. After her husband’s death, she’s left with her family’s beach restaurant and two nearly-grown children. The last thing she’s looking for is another chance at love.
However, if her husband’s best friends, the Posse, have anything to say about it, love is just what she’s going to get. The Posse is determined to take care of Jude, and when they decide the best way to do that is for one of them to sweep her off her feet, three begin to vie for her affections. But only one can reach her heart.

In a story of friendship, loss and second chances, Jude will learn her life is far from being over.

First, I love the idea behind a group of friends who look out for each other. How awesome would it be to know that if something ever happened to you or your spouse that there will be a group around to help them get through the trying times? Second, I love how Jude’s family is such a close family. I wish that I had a group of friend and family that were that close growing up. I have tried to instill that closeness in my immediate family and so far it is working. My girls are each other best friends and I could not be happier. I did not have that type of relationship with my two older sisters but with the sister I lost to cancer over 18 years ago I did.

I will have to say that I love the setting of the book. It is the beach and by my many posts on here you can tell that I love the beach. It is a place relaxation and peace for me. Second, I love the name of Jude. It is such an unusual name and I love characters that have unusual names.

Also love how Jude is given a second chance to find a new but different love. How awesome is it to know that after you lose the love of your life there still might be someone out there to spend the rest of your life with.

I will have to warn you if you read this book; make sure you have a box of Kleenexes with you because it is a tear jerker. But by far this is the best book I have read in a while. And as you know I have read a lot of books this summer. Don’t believe me, check it out for yourself on
