AFM Reading List

Imagine if you will living a straight and narrow life, obeying all the rules that your parents set for you even at the age of 22. One night you make a mistake that changes your whole life. Your parents turn your back on you because your one and only time that you have sex (a one night stand) results in your being pregnant. Well that is what has taken place in Meara’s life in the book Imperfection by Phaedra Seabolt. Here is a brief summary of the book.

At the center of a war brewing between two packs: her son

Meara Falk always followed her parents’ rules, until one night in March when the temptation to let loose changed her life forever.

Nine months later, disowned and with a baby on her hip, she discovers werewolves exist after being on the wrong end of some teeth and claws. During her first change, werewolves attack, stealing her son and driving her out of her home.

Now she’s looking for the man who kidnapped her baby and turned her life upside down. Meara’s son is in the middle of a threatened war between two powerful packs. Getting him back will jeopardize the lives of everyone she loves.

First let me say that as a parent I am appalled and furious with how Meara’s parents treated her after her one slip up. Instead of being loving parents that turn their backs on her and kicked her out of the house. How can parents be so cruel? This was one mistake that their child made and they are so unforgiving. I love how that does not stop Meara from loving the child she is carrying. She decides that she will be a better parent than both of hers. I also love how both of her best friends support her in her decision to  keep her child. How awesome is it to have friends like that?

What I also loved about this book was that it had that mystical element of werewolves in it. How cool would it be to find out that you can actually into another species? I know it sounds scary but I think it would be pretty cool to at least try it out.  But what I don’t think I could get over would be the amount of blood that I would see being a werewolf. Yuck.

So if you are looking for  an awesome book to read that contains a mystical element than this is the book for you.
You can purchase the book on Amazon for $.99. Yep another Frugal Read.
