Lifting The Wheel of Karma by Paul Magid is a unique book. It focuses on one boy named Joseph. When you first meet Joseph, you find that he suffers from terrible nightmares almost like night terrors so to speak. In his dreams he is constantly fighting off people who want to do him harm. So in real life he teaches himself how to become the ultimate fighter. What happens to him for the rest of his life is all about Karma?
What is Karma exactly? Karma according to Webster’s Dictionary is one’s destiny or according to Buddhism the consequences for one one actions that determine the destiny of your reincarnation. With that said the book deals with Joseph’s karma and what he has done in his past life that causes him to have the night terrors. It only after he comes to term with what he has done in his past life is he able to find peace in his present life.
This book is a definite must read. I loved this book. It is different than the normal books that I have read but I found it intriguing to delve into another culture’s beliefs and discover that sometimes things are not as they seem. This book gave me a better understanding of karma.
