Unique Veggie Trays For Less
I like to entertain a lot. There is nothing like a group of friends getting together just to hang out and chat. I have learned some tricks that makes it look like I spent a fortune but I really just spent a few dollars. For instance most of my friends are very health conscious and are choosing more vegetables than sweets. So one occasion instead of buying those veggie trays that are already put together at the store, I decided to make some of my own veggie trays and add a few things that aren’t normally on them.
So now that I have your attention I am going to show you how to make a veggie tray for less. The first thing you need to do is find some baskets. I found the two that I used for a recent get together at our local dollar store. I then went and looked around the produce section of our local grocery store. While standing there trying to figure what I wanted to include in the trays. My eyes set upon on kale. I thought why don’t I use this to line the baskets. And I was so glad I did. In my opinion it totally made the basket. I then put crackers, broccoli, and celery in one basket.
In the other basket, I put cheese, carrots and little tomatoes. I used a little mason jar to hold my ranch dressing. Because if you are eating vegetables you have to have some ranch dressing. I love the way my veggie and cheese baskets turned out and to be honest, it took me less than 10 minutes to make these unique baskets.
And then I went to create the buffet settings, I placed them on black candlesticks of varying heights so it was easy access and also it was visually stunning.

I am going to a potluck this weekend and I might just have to do this. And if you use dollar store baskets you can leave them and not worry that they won’t come back.
