Tips to Help You Host a Holiday Party to Be Remembered

AFM Holiday-Party

Are you planning in holding a holiday party whether it is for Christmas or New Year’s? If it is you need to remember the focus needs to be on spending time with your guest and not over doing it in the kitchen that you are so stressed out you can’t enjoy the party. Here are a few tips that will help you become the hostess with the mostess.

  • Have a dazzling buffet table set. The perfect tablecloth can make the mood just right. Remember the burlap and lace runner I made the other week. It was so simple to make but yet gave my dining room an elegant look.

AFM Table Setting

  • Have some festive coasters placed around the party area so you won’t be stressed out by water marks or stains. Coasters are easy to make just simple glue felt pieces to the bottom of your favorite tiles. You can modge podge fronts of old Christmas cards to these tiles.
  • Have an emergency clean up kit assembled for those unexpected messes.
  • If your party is a sit down dinner have personalized place cards at each setting. You can fill some small jars with candy and paint your guest’s name on the side. Another thought you can use an ornament with a gift tag with their name attached to it. These can also double as cute party favor for your guest to take home.

These are just a few tips that I have about the setting. But here are a few more when it comes to the food.

  • Before serving cheese at a party, take it out of the refrigerator before guest’s arrive. Cheeses take best at room temperature. It is at that temperature your guests can experience its full flavor.
  • Deviled eggs are a great go to appetizer. You can always substitute Greek yogurt for mayo for a lighter touch and to accommodate those that are watching their waistlines.
  • Jazz up ready to bake cookies with candy pieces.
  • Also we can’t forget the drinks. Whatever beverages you are serving frozen fruit like raspberries and strawberries work great as ice cubes or to garnish those holiday cocktails.

Remember the important thing about hosting a holiday party to be remembered is to focus on the people who are attending and not on all the trappings.
