Southern Women’s Show Sneak Peek

trifabb meetup southern women's show

This past Thursday I had the pleasure of attending another Fabulous event put together by TRIfabb’s founder Molly from Still Being Molly . I have attended several meetups that she created before, but the Southern Women’s preview is my absolute favorite. Why? Because first there are a lot of bloggers that attend, more than the ordinary events and because we get a sneak peak behind the scenes of the show.

Here is Molly talking to all of us. And yes she wore her baby the whole time. Love her.

This year we were once again treated  by PDQ with their yummy food. If you haven’t visited a PDQ you need to, it is delicious. We were also given complimentary beverages from Bud Light Lime . I will admit that I indulged in their new Watermelon- Rita. This will be something I can so see myself buying. For dessert, we were treated to cupcakes made with champagne from Sweetheart Treats. I honestly hated passing up those yummy treats but since I am trying to watch my weight I choose to eat my calories for dinner. But everyone that tasted these cupcakes said they were yummy.

I also love that any meetup that Molly coordinates always has a charitable cause attached to it. And this event was no different. The cause was Teen Cancer America.

A representative from First Citizen’s Bank speaking to us about Teen Cancer America

As you know, cancer is something that has hit me personally. Two of the special  people I know were taken from us because if this deadly disease. The first was my sister almost 21 years ago. She not only had ovArian cancer but at the end of her life she had tumors all up and down the right of her bottom. Ultimately lung cancer was what took her from us. She was breathing with less 5% of her lung capacity when she died. And then a year ago this past January my dear daddy, my hero, joined my sister in heaven. His cancer could be traced to the use of Agent Orange when he was Vietnam.

Teen Cancer America is a great cause, as it allows teens to enjoy being a teen and not let cancer define who they are. The whole premise behind it is the creation of treatment centers for teens and young adults that cater to their needs. To learn more, you need to check out their website.

I will have to say that I had a great time catching up with other bloggers that I have met at past events as well as meeting a few new faces. But I also loved catching up with my girl Kathi, from Queen J. She and I always have a great time when we are together.

I plan on going back to see the show today, but you never know what the day will bring with teenagers. Want to read more about TRIfabb’s other meetups you can check out last year’s Southern Women’s , The Flourish Market and the Kendra Scott events.
