Sea Life Aquarium A Relaxing Way to Spend a Rainy Day

Sea Life Aquarium Relaxing Day

“”Under the Sea, Under the Sea! Darling it’s better down where it’s wetter!”
Sebastian the crab had the right idea in the Disney movie, The Little Mermaid. Recently we visited Sea Life Aquarium in Concord Mills Mall in Charlotte/ Concord. The moment we arrived to see the aquarium we knew this would be a day that we would not forget. We entered the building and went to will call to pick up  our tickets. After we got out tickets we had to wait for the hatch to open so that we could begin our adventure. I will have to say that I have not been to an aquarium that was set up like this so I was totally impressed. After watching a brief movie, we were launched into our ocean adventure.

First stop was the touch tank , where my girls were mistaken for triplets by one of the employees of the aquarium. She was shocked when I told her they were 18, 16, and 12. Yep Gracie is as tall as her sisters- if not taller.

After the touch tank, we began to explore the aquarium oohing and aweing over all the fish. I loved that there were so many places to take pictures. Even Raul got in on the fun. Of course I was excited to see one of my favorite sea creatures, THE SEAHORSES.

I keep telling my husband I want one but he won’t budge. We also found Dory from “Finding Nemo”. This aquarium is definitely a hands on one allowing visitors to get as close as possible to the exhibits.

My favorite part was walking through the tunnel as the fish and sharks swam overhead. But the favorite thing for my girls was at the end near the playground when they sat down to color a picture. Yep, no matter how old you are you are never to old to color a picture.

Finally it was our time to go, but what a great way to relax on an overcast Saturday. But not before we left we snapped a picture in front of the sign.
