Get the Nicholas Sparks Limited Edition Collection, which came out on DVD January 28, just in time for Valentine’s Day. It features seven films based on the best-selling author’s novel. You can “Own it on DVD.” Nicholas Sparks is one the most renowned storytellers in the world who just happens to live in my state, North Carolina. In fact, this summer my husband and I took a day cruise around New Bern, and we were able to see his house.

I think that is so awesome. Here is a little more about the Nicholas Sparks Limited Edition DVD Collection. It includes a special postcard set with images from each film. (Maddie stole the Lucky One Postcard because Zac Efron is on that one.) It also includes a letter from Nicholas Sparks. This excellent collection will sell for $69.97. I know what you think that is a lot of money, but the fact that you are getting seven movies it all that is a bargain. Less than $10 per movie.
Here are a little bit about the movies you will receive in this collection.
Safe Haven
This deeply romantic thriller tells the story of a young woman’s struggle to find love again after she arrives in a small North Carolina town. When a mysterious young woman arrives in Southport, her reluctance to join the tight-knit community raises questions about her past. Slowly, she begins putting down roots and gains the courage to start a relationship with Alex, a widowed store owner with two young children. But dark secrets intrude on her new life with such terror that she is forced to rediscover the meaning of sacrifice and finds she must rely on the power of love.
This film stars Josh Duhamel and Julianne Hough. There are also special features included on this disc such as deleted scenes and an alternate ending.
The Lucky One
US Marine Sergeant Logan Thibault returns from his third tour of duty in Iraq with the one thing he credits with keeping him alive– a photograph he found of a woman he doesn’t even know. Learning her name is Beth, and where she lives, he shows up at her door and ends up taking a job at her family-run local kennel. Despite her initial mistrust and the complications of her life, a romance develops between them, giving Logan hope that Beth could be more than his good luck charm.
This film stars Zac Efron, Taylor Schilling, and Blythe Danner. This disc also includes special features such as seeing Zac Efron become a Marine, and other special little mini movies.
Dear John
This film tells the story of John Tyree, a young soldier home on leave, and Savannah Curtis, the idealistic college student he falls in love with during his spring vacation. Over the next seven tumultuous years, the couple is separated by John’s increasingly dangerous deployments. While meeting only sporadically, they stay in touch by sending a stream of love letters which eventually triggers fateful consequences.
This film stars Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfried. It too includes special features that are unique to this disc.
Nights in Rodanthe
This rich tale of hearts stars Richard Gere and Diane Lane. Gere plays Paul, a surgeon who long ago decided that his career was more important than his family. Lane is Adrienne, a devoted mom trying to move on after her husband cheated and struggling with his desire to return to their marriage. At a remote inn on the Outer Banks, both separately expect to do some serious soul-searching. But an approaching storm forces each to turn to the other for strength, setting the stage for romance.
This disc also comes with special features including a music video by Gavin Rossdale.
The Notebook
This is a story of lost chances, growing up, and the power of enduring love. Spanning six decades, the romantic story focuses on two teenagers from opposite side of the tracks who fall in love during one summer but are tragically forced apart. When they reunite seven years later, their passionate romance is rekindled, forcing one of them to choose between true love and class order.
This movie has a star-filled cast. It includes Ryan Gosling, Rachel McAdams, James Garner, Gena Rowlands, Sam Shepard, Joan Allen, James Marsden and Kevin Connolly. This disc just like all the other has special features which include a commentary by Nicholas Sparks himself.
A Walk to Remember
This is an inspiring coming of age story about first love. It is about two very different North Carolina teenagers. Landon is a troubled, unmotivated but very popular student and Jamie who is the serious conservative daughter of a preacher. As love pulls them closer, peer pressure and lifestyles seek to break them apart.
This film stars Shane West and Mandy Moore. Included in the special features of this disc is a Mandy Moore’s music video Cry.
Message in a Bottle
In this tale of love lost and found, grieving widower Garret Blake may know how to build boats, but cannot rebuild his life. Theresa, a lonely divorcee, and researcher for the Chicago Tribune comes to is North Carolina village to find him, knowing that Garret is the author of the message she found inside a bottle on a Cape Cod beach. And she knows the message spoke to her in a way that profoundly touched her heart.
This film stars Kevin Costner, Robin Wright, and Paul Newman. This disc also includes special features. And I will have to say that this movie was my first introduction to Nicholas Sparks. I don’t know what hooked me first the story or the fact that the film was set in the state that I was born.
All of these movies are incredible. But I will warn you that you need a box of tissues near you when you are watching them. They are heart warming.
