How Kimmy Schmidt Taught Me About Uber Drivers
One day when I was driving Gracie to school we were listening to the Morning Mashup. {If you haven’t listened to them you need to, I think there hasn’t been a morning where we aren’t cracking up with laughter in the car. } And they were having a conversation about Uber Drivers and how not only can you rate the drivers but the drivers can rate you as well. What an interesting concept right?
That got me thinking what kind of qualifications do you need to have to be a Uber Driver? Now you have to understand we live in a very small town so the concept of being an Uber Driver is something that I hadn’t heard of before now. But of course, my girls have heard and think it is awesome.
I really started learning after I watched the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt , you just have to love that show, a modern day Amelia Bedelia. Kimmy actually works a Uber Driver for part of the show.
In researching, the qualifications I realized that it is probably a lot safer than riding in any other form of public transportation. I mean first, did you know that all the drivers have to undergo a background check? Also, there is an age requirement. And strict requirements on the type of car the driver uses as well as all the paperwork that goes with the car and driver, i.e. insurance, driver’s license and registration etc.
I will admit that I was quite surprised to read how strict the requirements are. I thought to myself what a great way to get around especially during the holiday season when you have a little too much to drink.
