Hall of Frames

I have always wanted to organize the family photos in such a way to make a dramatic statement. I decided one day to turn the hallway going to the girls’ room into my hall of frames. The first thing I did was make a plan. I gathered all the pictures that were around the house and went to work deciding which ones I wanted to use. I then went to work on the frames. I could not afford to go out and buy all new frames, so I had to be a little creative. A majority of the frames were black. So I came up with the idea to use a black sharpie to paint the frames. It is amazing what you can do with a sharpie.

Next, I decided on a layout – since I had three big pictures of each of my girls, I decided I need to plan my layout around them. I first put those pictures up and then placed others around them changing the placement as I saw fit.

Then above the layout I placed a vinyl cling that I had bought at the dollar store to add the finishing touch.

I love the clean look of my hallway now. It is the first thing people see when they walk in my back door. It went from drab to fab without costing any money. Redecorating doesn’t have to cost a lot of money- you just need to use your imagination and be creative. So tell me how have you used your imagination and creativity to redecorate without costing a penny?
