Gift Ideas For a Baby Shower

Deciding on what to give someone for a baby shower can be difficult enough for someone who already has kids, but even more difficult for someone who has none.  Deciding on what the person may need for their new impending arrival can leave a person scrolling and scrolling through someone’s registry seeing that all the “good” stuff has been taken.

Even if the following items aren’t on a baby registry, you better believe that these are some of the most useful items a new parent can need.  If it’s the person’s first child they may not even know what they need yet.

Here are some of the most essential and useful items that you can gift someone for a baby shower.

Baby Carrier

Many first time parents rush out to the store and purchase a stroller thinking that’s all they’ll need.  They drop as much as $1000 on some fancy vehicle-like thing with all the bells and whistles, only to get home and realize their baby is not interested in being anywhere other than in their arms.

A baby carrier is essential for a parent to be able to have their hands free but also calm a newborn who wants to be close to their parents.  On average, a newborn who is in a wakeful state tolerates being put down for no more than 10 minutes.  This is a huge reason why new parents are so exhausted.

It can be extremely draining to constantly have to have a little one in your arms, so a baby carrier is a great option.  Take a look at the many different options and decide which carrier suits your price range best.

Diapers

Even if they already have plenty of diapers you can be sure that they’ll need more! A newborn goes through about 10 diapers a day.  A gift idea for diapers is offering a diaper service for a year of disposable diaper delivery.  Or you can simply buy several newborn packs of disposables.

You can find cheap deals on Amazon or at Target.  Sometimes you can even find alternative diapers on sale like the Honest Company, which is popular among mothers.

Onesies

Blowouts can and will happen.  At any time a baby could go from cute little cooing adorable cherub to a tiny human volcano erupting brown lava from all sides of their clothing.  Up the back, down the legs, and into any orifice or crevice.

A baby can go through as many as 5 or more onesies a day depending on leaks so it’s best to make sure a new parent has plenty in their arsenal.

Onesies don’t have to be fancy.  Choose either a large pack of plain white or if you want to be creative you can choose a funny design or logo.
