Feeling Blessed

Last week I celebrated my birthday. I normally don’t get to celebrate with my friends much but this year was different. Last year, Raul took me out to eat with the girls, but because my birthday fell on a Thursday, he worked his second job so no out to eat. But I was able to spend some time with some of my awesome friends doing some of the things I love.

AFm Birthday 1

The day before my birthday, one of best friends, who have been friends with for over ten years took me out to eat and wine tasting. Anyone that knows me knows I love to go wine tasting, and I just haven’t had the time to recently. A bigger plus was the fact that it was a favorite winery. I love the wine at The Country Squire so after the tasting I bought myself a birthday treat of a bottle of their Apple Riesling. We ended up eating dinner at the Country Squire. I will have to say that it was delicious. I had never eaten there before, so I was excited to go. The hostess brought me a piece of birthday cake and sang “Happy Birthday” to me. This was so awesome, and the fact that she had an English accent made it even more special. I love hearing English accents. The Country Squire is said to be haunted my friend Kathi, from Queen J,  had been there before when a  spirit appeared and she even captured the essence in a photo. How cool is that? But unfortunately, no spirit came out to visit us that day?

AFM Birthday 2

The next day which was my actual birthday, I was treated to a lunch cruise by my friend Courtney. You may remember her from Isn’t She Darling? We traveled the waterways around Beaufort Island. Seeing such sights as the wild ponies which I featured on Wordless Wednesday, the pirate Blackbeard’s house along with walking through an old historic cemetery. ( I will write about that later) And was even treated to Starbucks on the way home. I don’t get to see Courtney a lot because we are both busy, and I was just excited to get to spend the day with her.

AFM Birthday 3

Had this little arrangement waiting for me when I got home. Love my hubby.

The day after my birthday, I spent the day shopping with another one of my best friends Beth. We shopped at the outlets at Carolina Pottery and then went to a Japanese restaurant for lunch. I love hibachi chicken and watching them cook your food right in front of you make it taste better.

But the celebration of my birthday is still not over. Today we are going with some more of our best friends to my favorite Mexican restaurant in Clayton and then wine tasting at Hinnant Winery. This is another winery that I love.

So with all this I am feeling blessed to have the life I have and the people in it as well. How are you feeling lucky??
