Election Day Did You Vote?

i-voted-today

Today it is Election Day!!  The light at the end of the tunnel can be seen!! Finally, all those political ads will be off the television and no more Politics in my Facebook feed. I will have to say that I have tried to stay out of this election mess but since it is the end I just have this to say.

Everyone has a right to vote for who they believe is the best. Calling people names because of who they support is just to me childish. Why can’t we all just agree to disagree on this? Yes, there are some that think that Trump is a bad choice but there are also others that see Hilary the same way. No matter how much you moan and complain about them it isn’t going to change the way people vote.

I will say watching my Facebook feed has made me lose some respect for those I have always admired. But I also found a refreshing point of view. One of my friends, who homeschools, posted that she took her sons to hear former President Bill Clinton speak. She is not a supporter of the Clintons at all but she wanted her boys to make their own mind up when it comes to who vote for and she said as a homeschool mom she would be falling down on her job if she passed up a chance for her boys to hear a former president speak. I mean seriously how often does that happen?

When I read this post I thought what a refreshing way to look at things? If only the rest of the world and the political parties and the candidates could that as well. Respect each other and not resort to name calling.

I didn’t unfriend any of my friends because of this but it has made me lose respect but I guess they are taking the cue from the candidates and the media. Instead of respectively listening to one another opinions.

But with that said did you take the time to vote today? I did early voting last week. This was the first time that Mikaela voted so I took her with me. Although we don’t agree on a lot, we did agree that voting matters.
