People are not always what they seem? How many times have you seen or heard this theme. Well in the book The Mystery of Mouta by G.X. Chen that is the main theme as well. This is a new mystery book that takes you into the world of Chinese culture.

Before I give you my take on the book, here is a brief summary.

A teenager returns home to find that his mom is dead and their apartment destroyed. The police are called and the mother’s death is ruled a homicide. But why would someone kill a poor Chinese immigrant? Anna Lee and Fang Chen, close friends of the victim, help the police in their investigation. Their investigation takes them all the way to Beijing, China. There they stumble into a cobweb of mystery and danger. Fearing for their lives, but determined to press on they unearth a scandal greater than they could have imagined.

This book sounds interesting doesn’t it? I will have to say that at some point I was found this book a little confusing. But after giving it a chance I was pleasantly surprised with the twists and turns in this book. I could not figure out the murderer until the very end. It was a little slow starting but as I got into it, I found that I could not put this book down. This book has taught me a very good lesson that even when things are confusing just tread on and things will become clearer. If you are looking for a great book to carry on vacation than I would highly suggest that you add this book to your traveling list.

Happy Reading,

Melissa AKA Frugal Mom
