Out of the Box Tips for Floral Displays

AFM Out Box Floral Display

I love spring and summer, mostly because my garden is blooming with fresh flowers. I always have fresh flowers during these months. I do have quite a collection of vases for my flowers and yes I do use them but sometimes it is good to think outside of the box. Along with my vases I like to display my flowers in unique ways. Here are some of the things I have used in the past in my floral displays.
• An ice bucket- I have a silver ice bucket that I use to display my flowers. Here is a floral tip that I learned a while ago that you might find helpful as well. Use clear tape to make a grid across the top of the opening of container that you are using to display your flowers. This will allow you to fill in the empty spots in your floral arrangement and have a floral display that will be the envy of all your friends.
• Use water glasses or mason jars to hold bouquets and small shallow glasses to float a single bloom. (I wish my peony bush would bloom so I can use this idea. Anybody have any tips on how to get peonies to bloom I would love to hear them. They are my favorite flower and I have two bushes of them but sadly they will not bloom. 🙂 )
• A round decorative bowl is beautiful to use to display a single magnolia blossom. Here is a story for you when we first moved to our new house 7 years ago, at our other house we had a magnolia tree that we have watched grow from a little sapling. When we moved I told my husband it was coming with us and he said no it wasn’t. We went back and forth like that for a while but finally my husband relented and said okay. So with one scoop of the backhoe he dug up the tree and planted it in our new backyard. Every year, all my husband says is how beautiful the tree is and I just smile and say your welcome LOL 😉 AFM Tree
• Also you might want to scour garage sales for bottles and glasses that you can use to display your blooms. Think old fashioned and vintage items.
• An empty wine bottle can also be a wonderful vase for a single rose especially if you are in a pinch.
When it comes to displaying your flowers remember to look for items that are unusual and to think outside of the box. Tell me what do you use to display your flowers. I am always looking for new ideas.

  1. I love using a round glass vase to feature a single flower. Just the other day a begonia flower dropped off the plant when watering and I did just that!
