Why Should You Choose a Zero-Turn Mower?

Lawnmowers are important tools for both residential and commercial use.  With numerous types of mowers to consider, from push mowers to garden tractors to zero turns, you may need help deciding which type of mower is right for your needs.  Here we explain the benefits of zero turn mowers:

Zero Turning Radius

Of course, the radius of zero turn mowers is the main feature of this type of mower.  They have a true Zero-Turn radius.  This is an important consideration for both homeowners and for businesses.  With a traditional mower, it can be very difficult to cut around trees, bushes and other obstacles in your yard or on the grounds of a business.  However, with a Zero-Turn mower, that is not an issue.  You can mow in tight corners without having to back up and pull forward repeatedly.

Speed

Along with the maneuverability, zero turn mowers have faster ground speeds, which provides higher productivity. This means you will be able to reduce the amount of time that you spend mowing while also reducing your fuel costs.  For those with landscaping businesses, this means that you can actually be more productive each day – a significant benefit.

Visibility and functionality

Since a zero turn mower has no hood, steering wheel or dash to deal with, they are very easy to mount and dismount. This also means great visibility. As far as ease of use, often times a zero turn is easier to operate than a tractor since steering is controlled by two levers. This requires less effort and results in less overall operator fatigue.

More Affordable Than You Think

For those who have wanted a zero turn mower but felt that they were simply too expensive, there are more affordable options on the market now than ever before.  Many of these are comparable with other mowers, and you will find that your savings help you offset the cost, as well.

In a nutshell, they are:

  • Larger Cutting Decks
  • Greater Efficiency
  • Greater Maneuverability
  • Greater Ease of Control

Regardless of which lawn mower you choose, choosing the right one can bring many hours of enjoyment to any gardening enthusiast. There is nothing that makes a home look better than a properly maintained garden, and the actual process of mowing a lawn can be quite relaxing. So do your research, assess your budget, and find the right lawn mower. Finding the best lawn mower for you is a lot easier than you think.

  2. Thanks for sharing this blog information with us. I have a medium sized garden at 80ft long plus some space at the front so still too small for a ride on mower though it’s the first time I’ve heard of a 0 turn mower. Definitely handy for the larger gardens.
