We all have probably grabbed a salt shaker to sprinkle some on our food a time or two! But did you know you can use salt in so many different ways around the house? Salt is very affordable and so useful in more ways than one! I am going to share a list of must try salt hacks for your home, to try out!

From soothing a sore throat to removing stains in clothes, getting rid of dandruff, and all things in between! You might find some of these salt tips, you may not have heard of before. Give them a try! I am a huge fan of hacks, I love how they simplify and solve my everyday problems around the house!

Stains in Clothes 

Spill some food or drink on your favorite blouse? Rub some salt in it and let it stand for a little to help absorb the food or drink particles. Then put the item in the wash like you normally would, and bye bye stain! Salt can also be used for armpit stains. Make a paste of salt and water, and apply to the stained armpits, and let it stand for an hour and wash like normal. It will help pull out the stain and leave your garment looking brighter!

Fish Odor On Hands 

Having fish for dinner, and now your hands have a fishy odor? Try rubbing your wet hands with a tablespoon of salt. Massage the salt into your hands like an exfoliator,  and follow with soap and water, and the smell is gone.

Coffee Stains in Mugs

If you are a coffee or tea drinker you might have some stains in your mugs. Add a tablespoon of salt to any mug, and add in a splash of vinegar. Use this to scrub away those stuck on stains, and then wash like normal.

Dandruff 

Suffer from dandruff? Massage some sea salt into your scalp before washing your hair. This will help remove any dead skin cells and exfoliate, helping to get rid of that pesky dandruff.

Blooming Flowers 

If you have some fresh flowers, add a dash of salt to the water to help them bloom and last longer!

Relieve a Sore Throat 

Take some warm water and add in a pinch of salt. Gargle with this three times a day. It will really help soothe your sore throat in no time!

Stainless Steel Cookware Cleaner

Mix salt and baking soda together with a little water to create a paste. Use this on your stainless steel cookware or sink to get it looking like new!

Freshen Shoes 

Sprinkle salt into your shoes and boots at night, and in the morning shake out the salt. This will deodorize and freshen your shoes!

Bubbles Overload In Sink

Toss to much dish soap and now you have too many bubbles? Add a pinch of salt to the water, and watch the bubbles disappear!

Soften Cuticles and Strengthen Nails

Add a tablespoon of lemon juice, a dash of salt, and a dash of baking soda to a cup of warm water. Soak your nails for 15 minutes, and pat dry. This will help soften cuticles and strengthen your nails.

Get Rid of Ants 

In a spray bottle add in two cups of warm water, followed by 3 teaspoons of salt. Let the warm water dissolve the salt, and shake well. Spray around areas where ants are around, to keep them away. Great for doorways, windowsills, around the outside of house and more.

Peel Hard Boiled Eggs Easier

Add a dash of salt and splash of vinegar to the egg water when you go to make hard boiled eggs. It will make the eggs so much easier to peel, you will be amazed.
