10 Must Haves For A Fun Family Reunion

Summer is a time of family. At least to my family, it is. This is the one time of the year that our lives seem to slow down a little so we are able to visit with each other. And now, with my dad gone, we are finding that it is more important to share time with family.  So I came up with a list of must-haves for fun family reunion time.

1. Fabulous foods- you can keep it simple and have everyone bring a covered dish and supply the main part of the meal.  Or you can simply have it catered.
2. Lots of fun games- Cornhole and ACL cornhole bags, volleyball, frisbee, and softball are some of the coolest family-orientated games. But can go out of the book and get a little creative. Lawn twister, anyone?
3. Name tags- If you have a big family, how are supposed to know your third cousin’s wife and their family? This will avoid some of those awkward conversations.
4. A photo booth- You know they are all the rage right now. Make sure to have some fun accessories you can snap those hilarious pictures to remember the occasion.
5. A fabulous place to hold the reunion. Unless you have a big house, you will need to find a place that is not only fabulous but affordable as well.
6. Invitations– Make sure that all invites are clear and easy to read. You might need to skip the smaller print on this one as some of the older relatives might not be able to read it. I know if I get an invite for anything and it is in small print, I must have my girls read it, and I wear glasses.
7. Booking a Block of Hotel Rooms at a discounted rate. Some of your family might be coming from out-of-town so knowing that they have a block set aside for them will help to relieve some of the stress of where they will stay.
8. You can even create a website or a Facebook group for the family so that if there is a change of plans, it is quicker to update this than to call or text all the family members attending.
9. Arts and Crafts and even special t-shirts if needed or want.
